Join Vinay Pathak and citizens of India and Become a Fool for Forests!

Dear Nikhil,

Amazing! In just days over 15,000 people have become Fools for Forests. Now it's time for all of us Fools to act because something urgent has come up.

The Group of Ministers formed to look into the forest versus coal issue is meeting for the last time today.[1] They are going to decide if some of the last remaining forests in Central and Eastern India are going to be destroyed for the coal that lies underneath them.

We need to show the government that there is massive public opposition to any plans to destroy forests. To do this, we need more people to join this movement and become Fools for Forests.

Can you forward the mail below to your friends and family, and ask them to become Fools for Forests?

Thanks a billion!

Dear friend,

Hi! I am Vinay Pathak, and I'm usually trying to make you laugh. Today I'm very serious - serious about saving our forests.

I find it hard to imagine that there are people who want to cut down forests for the coal underneath them. Especially when there are other ways to ensure we have power. Sadly enough, our government wants to replace our last remaining forests in central and eastern India with ugly, barren coal mines, displacing millions of people and much wildlife dependent on these forests.

People and organisations like Greenpeace who want them to keep our forests safe, are called foolish. If our 'smart leaders' have their way, they'll clear all our forests. I don't want that to happen because I am a Fool for Forests. Surely you don't want this to happen either?

So watch this video and become a Fool for Forests like me and many others.

As a supporter of Greenpeace, I know that the organisation has been working hard to keep the environment safe and that includes the forests too. This effort to protect the forests will gain more strength if all Fools for Forests like us come together and support it.

Recently, I read that research done by the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change has shown that renewable energy can provide for the entire world.[1] When we have such a clean and viable option, why is the government so crazy about destroying our forests to get dirty coal?

Our children deserve to experience the beauty of forests and the life forms that co-exist in them. Let's be foolish now so that our future generations have a smart future. Become a Fool for Forests now!
